Reasons 3 through 7
3. The Images
You can recognize my images at a glance. They are clean, colorful, and graphic. My portraits actually tell you something about the subject; my architectural shots show the beauty I see in the structure and its environment.

I don't deal in 'trendy' or 'edgy' photographs - styles that are here today, but will be gone tomorrow. I don't work with 'concepts' that are devoid of content. Instead, I work in a more classical style, producing photographs that will always be accessible and mean something to the viewer. When I shoot something for you, be it a person, a product, or a building, the picture will convey an emotion, not just a thought. This is, in my mind, what art is supposed to do.

4. Experience
I've been an editorial, corporate, and advertising photographer for over 25 years. I've shot for innumerable clients on 2 continents, used all types of cameras from 35mm to 8x10, and have been completely digital since 2003, when I gave away my last film camera. If it can be shot on location, I've probably shot it, or something like it, or studied how to shoot it.

5. Philosophy
My philosphy is simple, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I've tried to live by this simple rule all my life. If I hire someone to paint my house, I expect him to do the best job he can possibly do. If you hire me to shoot something for you, you expect the same.

Sure, I shoot for money, and I'm not cheap. But that doesnt mean I accept any job that comes my way. I don't promise things I can't deliver. If a job is something I feel I'm not suited for, I'll tell you so and try to recommend another photographer. And if a job doesn't excite me, I'll turn it down. I've learned over the years that if I'm not enthusiastic about a job, I can't do my best work.

6. Personality
You'll it notice the moment you speak with me on the phone. I'm light, confident, humorous, and interested in you and your project. I'm a Yale grad, and can talk with most anyone about most anything. And if there is a subject I dont know about, I'll listen and get my subject to tell me about it. I can set most anyone at ease, from young children to the toughest CEO. People are just plain comfortable around me.

7. Backgrouond
As I mentioned above, I went to Yale. I've been interested in photography since I was child. My father, an art dealer and amateur photographer, gave me my 1st darkroom when I was 8. Ever since my junior year in college, when I started hanging around the Yale Art School, all I've wanted to be was a photographer. I've studied with some of the legends of modern photography, including Walker Evans, Jay Maisel, and Art Kane.

I am a proud member of ASMP, the American Society of Media Photographers, and PPA, The Professional Photographers of America.
