Once, there was a hippie from Yale...

I was raised in Dallas. My father studied painting in Paris; my mother painted portraits; her brother was an internationally known artist.  I was just a smart kid who couldn't even draw.  So I picked up my camera and headed off to Yale.

I took every photo course they had, all 2 of them, twice.

I shoot on location, primarily 35mm, digital or film.  If needed, I'll use a studio or larger camera.  My clients are corporations, their advertising, public relations, and marketing agencies, their designers, and a variety of national magazines.  Although most of my clients trust me to make the final decisions on shots, I actively seek their input and ideas. Proverbs 12:15 says "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice." I'm not a fool. I'm working for you.

WHY HIRE DAVID FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY NEEDS?

1. Architecture
---I strive to bring back beautiful, striking images of buildings. I'm known for my romantic pre-dawn and twilight pictures of buildings,

and for finding the dramatic angles that the architect had in mind, but other shooters might not see.

2. People---My portraits are interesting, vibrant, and joyous!

~~~~~~~~~~
3. Scenics---I took up photography because I loved skylines and landscapes. I thrive on creating dramatic images that capture the beauty of a location. My skylines have won national awards and have been made into posters and postcards.
~~~~~~~~~~

4. Graphics & Color---Simply put, I've always been known for strong, imaginative graphics and for putting color on film.

~~~~~~~~~~
5. Digital---I love shooting digital, and playing with digital images. Here are two examples where my digital skills helped me overcome the circumstances of the shoot and make memorable images.
I didn't know what to expect of the Choctaw Travel Mart in Stringtown, OK. I certainly hadn't imagined that the best shot would be a panoramic! But when I got there, I knew that nothing else would do. I carefully made 4 images, and stitched them together to make this glorious photo. But still, looking at the final image, the sunset sky was just a dull, lifeless blue-gray. A little more work at the computer---and I had the beautiful violet sky I wanted. Think the client liked it? You bet!
Dennis Barrett, head of Food and Cafeteria Services for the Dallas Independent School District, looked good in this photo. Unfortunately, one of the kids sitting at the lunch table behind him didn't. What did I do? I made him go bye-bye! Voila! A really nice portrait for a national magazine.
6. Service---You want it, I try to do it. I'm here for you. I have good relations with my photo lab, and excellent relations with my computer.  When shooting digitally, the process is seamless --- I am able to email high-quality contact sheets of the shoot to my client. They, in turn, can forward these same contacts to their clients. There's no snail-mail delay. After the final selection of images is made, I prepare the finished files, electronically transmit them to the client, and follow up with a CD-ROM for archiving. I pride myself on my prompt responsiveness: When a client needs a digital file quickly, they often receive it less than an hour after contacting me. I work for you, and I never forget it.
7. Hey! I'm just plain fun and easy to work with!!!
Ask yourself these 4 questions:
        1.) Are you happy with your current shooter?
        2.) Does he understand your needs? Are his images the style you want?
        3.) How is his service?
        4.) Is he fully digital?
If you are not satisfied with your answers, please give me a call.
My goal is to produce great images that exceed your needs.
